Canada Post Strike - Round 3!

Canada Post Strike - Round 3!

AND ANOTHER ONE!

Canada Post decided to surprise us all with a national strike on Friday, September 25th. Yes, on a Friday. The absolute worst day for this kind of news to drop. My weekend plans? Dead in the water. Instead, we’re hunkered down working behind the scenes to make sure your orders don’t sit around collecting dust.

WHAT'S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?

Here’s the scoop on shipping as it stands:

  • 📦 All packages are now being shipped with Purolator - it’s expensive, but it works.

  • 🚚 Checkout is running on flat-rate shipping by province for now. Not perfect, but at least things are moving.

  • ❌ Free Shipping is disabled for the duration of the strike. We know… not our favourite change either.

  • 🔧 We’re working on integrating other carriers, with the main goal being to get Purolator live rates back at checkout ASAP.

This setup is temporary. Once the strike ends, we’ll switch back to normal - though Purolator will be sticking around as a future option because Canada Post isn't giving.

ALREADY PLACED AN ORDER?

If you’ve already checked out, here’s where your package stands:

  • After Thursday, Sept 25 @ 2:00 PM ET → You’re in luck. We caught wind of strike rumors that afternoon and moved everything over to Purolator. Your package is on its way.

  • Before Thursday, Sept 25 @ 2:00 PM ET → Unfortunately, your order went through Canada Post, which means it’s currently frozen in their network until the strike is over. We’d love to pry it out ourselves, but Canada Post doesn’t exactly work like that. In fact, they’re not working at all right now. *zinnnngggg

NOT IDEAL, BUT WE'RE ON IT:

Yeah, this is a headache. But we’re rolling with the punches and doing everything we can to keep orders moving. We’ll keep posting updates as things shift, and as soon as Purolator’s live rates are plugged back in, you’ll see them at checkout.

Thanks for sticking with us through this chaos. We’re just as “excited” about this as you are (read: not at all). In the meantime, we’ve got your back and we’ll keep making this as smooth as possible.

JUST A QUICK REMINDER:

Since I’ll be glued to my desk all weekend anyway (grumble grumble), feel free to reach out if you run into issues. But before you hit send, here are a few quick notes:

  • ❌ No, I cannot break into Canada Post and grab your package. As much as I’d love to play action hero, there’s no way of retrieving your package from their network.

  • 😅 Angry emails won’t move you to the front of the line. Honestly, they’ll probably move you to the bottom of my to-do list. I'm just as frustrated as you are, but I'm not your personal punching bag.

  • 💸 Yes, shipping rates are higher right now. No, I can’t magically lower them just for you. Purolator is pricey - if you’re paying $15, we’re probably paying $30.

  • 📦 I don’t control Canada Post. They’re their own corporation. No secret backdoor updates, no VIP tracking, no insider info. We’re stuck waiting, same as you.

------------------------------------------

Guess Who's Back? Back Again...

Free shipping has made its grand return - and those flat rates? They've officially left the chat... for now!

We're just as excited as you are to bring back free shipping while the Canada Post situation (hopefully) settles down. If anything changes, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.

------------------------------

Round 2. Fight!

Welp, we’ve got another Canada Post strike incoming. It’s almost like we should’ve let them settle negotiations back in December instead of having the government force them back to work. Huh, who would’ve thought?

Let’s get into it.

I’ll be completely direct here, the whole “will they, won’t they” back-and-forth is getting exhausting. We spoke with our Canada Post rep, and we’re not even remotely confident they’ll avoid a strike. So, we’re making changes now to minimize disruption to your packages. Also, I’d love to avoid the level of hate mail I got during the last strike - because wow.

The Important Part:

Starting Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 3:00 PM, we will no longer be shipping with Canada Post. This is to help ensure most, if not all, of our packages can clear their network before a potential shutdown.

Also starting at that time, flat rate shipping is back. Rates will vary depending on your location. We’re integrating a network of independent carriers who will continue to verify age at delivery. If you’re in a rural area and none of these carriers are available, we’ll contact you directly to discuss alternatives - including a full refund.

We can’t guarantee which carrier will deliver your package. The system will automatically choose the fastest option based on estimated delivery time. You’ll still receive tracking info, no matter the carrier. And we’ll cover the difference between the flat rate and actual carrier cost.

Some important information to keep in mind:

🛻 Smaller carriers and brokers: Many carriers have already told us they can’t manage our volume or are quoting extremely high prices. We’ll go with whichever option gets your order to you fastest. Carrier selection is not guaranteed. 🚫 Coverage limitations: Unlike Canada Post, some carriers don’t cover the entire country. If you're in a rural area they can’t reach, we’ll contact you directly with options - including a full refund. 📅 Estimated delivery dates: With Canada’s largest carrier going offline, the rest will be overwhelmed with an influx of packages. We can't offer exact delivery times - tracking numbers will be your best source of updates. 📦 Flat fee structure: Shipping rates are based on your province. No matter how big your order is, you’ll only pay the flat rate. You’ll see this option at checkout. It will not be added later. It works the same as before. 👀 Hate mail: Look, we get it - this sucks. We’re frustrated too. But if you send aggressive or threatening messages, your order will be canceled. We don’t control Canada Post (or any carrier). Please don’t take it out on us.

We’ll keep this page updated as the situation with Canada Post evolves. We really appreciate your patience and support and we’ll be working overtime to get your packages out as quickly as possible.

Thanks again for riding this out with us.

Thank you for choosing to do this before packages are held up due to the strike, I know I appreciate it and hope others do also.
And sorry to hear that you received hate mail for something that was completely out of your control. Keep up the great work

Canada Post, even with all of its issues, has been quite dependable when it comes to my juice orders.
If a courier service is used going forth, I hope that they will not drop the package off without a signature. In my area the life expectancy of a package left on a doorstep is probably less than five minutes.
All that said, I will continue doing business with Vape 360 as you people have never let me down.
    Keep up the great work!

Merci
